Edition. Eleven volumes bound in contemporary full polished light purple 
calf with blind and gilt-decorated spines, all edges marbled; octavo 
(5-1/4" x 8-3/4"). Complete with a frontispiece, 25 folding maps (some 
quite large), and 17 plates (11 folding). With THE LIFE AND REMAINS OF 
EDWARD DANIEL CLARKE PROFESSOR OF MINERALOGY IN THE UNIVERSITY OF 
CAMBRIDGE by the Rev. William Otter, London: George Cowie and Co., 1825, 
in two volumes in matching bindings. Countries traveled include Russia, 
Tartary, Turkey, Greece, Egypt, the Holy Land, and Scandinavia. With a 
supplement of the author's journey from Constantinople to Vienna 
containing an account of the Gold Mines of Transylvania and Hungary. 
Total of thirteen volumes with the bookplate of Stowe Library on the 
front pastedown of each volume. Minor rubbing, covers tight. Handsome,
