4to. 4 vols. Each vol. with a copper engraved frontispiece. Vol. I with a 
large folding copper engraved map of England and Wales. Cont. 1/2 vellum, gilt, 
lightly soiled, red morocco spine labels, over marbled boards. Vol. I with a 
slight abrasion on one of the spine bands.     $1,000.00 (trade discount

The original four volumes in quarto of Smollett's important history. The 
second edition of 1758-1760, was expanded to eleven octavo volumes.
