ff.(4),liii (i.e. lii). Title printed in red & black, and with a large woodcut arms
of France, hand colored. This same cut is repeated on A6. Text with 48
woodcut labels and roundels that have been hand colored (many different colors)
through the use of a stencil. Cont. calf, neatly rebacked to match, without a
spine label. $3,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
One of the most ancient printed treatises on heraldry written in French.
The text is divided into two parts, the first on the emblazoning of arms, i.e.
color in heraldry. The second part enumerates the different articles of
clothing of men and women, with the appropriateness of their colors. BL Italian
