O'CASEY, Sean. AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED (ALS). . At the bottom of a
letter to O'Casey from Robert J. Lyons of the Lyons Theatre-News Service
requesting notes about his character Minnie Powell from his play A
SHADOW OF A GUNMAN to be played by Susan Strasberg. His response: "I've
already sent a number of notes to play's Director--at his request. I
shouldn't venture instruction or suggestion (except by personal request)
3000 miles, away from where rehearsals are. Susy Strasberg will, I'm
sure, give her own rendering of the part---as all great artists do, &
must do; and I'm sure she will show Minnie Powell to New York in a
fascinating way. SIGNED in full. Normal folds from mailing. Near
