plates (on 12 sheets, some folding). Woodcut device on title page. 19th c. gilt
decorated black calf over mottled blue paper covered boards (some light
rubbing). A lovely copy. $2,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
On the origin of playing cards and the introduction of paper made from
linen into various countries of Europe. A second part was published 17 years
later, in 1801. All 3 copies recorded in the auction records are "Vol. I" only.
