First edition.  Atlas folio, neatly rebacked in leather, marbled boards, leather tips, end 
paper with crease and small marginal tear. [6], 32 pages, 3 plates.   A nice, clean copy of an important work seldom offered for sale.  Garrison/Morton 1387. Reil founded the first journal of physiology and the first journal devoted to mental illness; he coined the word 'psychiatry.'  He first decribed 'Beau's Lines', 'Reil's Finger' (digitus mortuus), the  'Fillet of Reil', 'Reil's Trangle' & the 'Island of Reil' (the insula of the cerebral cortex.)
