 "The Cutter’s Manual. Revised and Re-Written, a Work Teaching the Art of
Cutting, with Practical Suggestions Invaluable to Every Cutter"

By C.B. Smith.
Published in Providence by the author. Undated, but from the binding and
typography, somewhere in the mid-late1880s.

DISCUSSION: Entirely devoted to men’s garments, this title was first
published in 1882; this edition is completely re-written, with new
diagrams. As are most such books, this is uncommon.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 7”x10”, 66 pages, line illustrations; publisher’s
black cloth with a gilt decoration of fancy cutting shears.

CONDITION NOTES: Covers with light soil and rubbing; hinges cracked and
wobbly; internally clean.
