One of the great scholarly editions of this important text, the chief legal reference of the Roman Empire. It is also a major landmark of 17th century printing. Goldsmid in his bibliography of the Elzevir Press, referring to the collaboration of Elzevir, Blaeu and Hackius, states, “It is perhaps the finest work issued by the Amsterdam presses.” See Willems #1299.
