Embossed stamp from "The Society of the Four Arts" in Palm Beach Fl. to lower corner of title page, same to page 101, text not affected. Bound in blue silken cloth, gilt embossed 'figure head' to front board, bright gilt title and decoration. Gilt lettering to spine. Front board few small mild spots. Rubbing to extremities, scratches to spine near joint,spine ends chipped. Pale scattered foxing and toning of pages. Text and illustrations clean and bright, oversized font to text.  Deckled lower edge, TEG. Rear hinge cracked, tiny hole to rear joint. 281 pages of text and index, with 48 glossy monochrome plates following. 4 to.
