LONDON, JACK. BEFORE ADAM. New York: The MacMillan Company, 1907. First
Edition. Decorated cloth. Illustrated with eight color plates and text
drawings by Charles Livingston Bull. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author
to J. W. Speare "with compliments" and dated Glen Ellen, Calif. 29
December 1909. A small (2-1/8" x 1-5/8") original photograph of London
is pasted to the front pastedown opposite the inscription on the front
endpaper. Ink in inscription a little light, likely right from the time
of its creation as London has gone over a few letters in his last name.
The rear endpaper and the last leaf of ads (of three) lacking. Cloth
somewhat dingy but decorations and lettering on cover very strong and
spine somewhat less so. In a fairly old specially made cloth slipcase. A
Good or better copy in a Very Good slipcase. $1,500.00
