geological appendices). Bound in at rear is a very large folding map of the 
upper Mississippi Valley (in very good condition). Later 19th century 1/2 calf 
over marbled boards, some rubbing, nicely rebacked with the orig. green 
morocco spine label laid down. Orig. blue printed front wrapper bound in. Old 
library bookplate on front pastedown. Small ownership rubber stamp at top of 
title page.     $750.00 (trade discount allowed)
"Senate. 26th Congress, 2d Session. 237" at top of title page, with the 
note that 300 copies were printed expressly for the Senate. This report and its 
map locates the true source of the Mississippi River. Howes N 152.
