good in a very good dust jacket, Jacket in Mylar protector.
The life and work of Chesapeake shipwright Clarence E. Davis and the
four generations of his family that preceded him in building wooden vessels
on these waters. Nicely illustrated. This copy INSCRIBED and SIGNED by
Footner to famed naval architect and historian Thomas C. Gillmer, on half
title. Bound in dark blue cloth over boards with gilt stamped spine and
upper board titles, color pictorial onlay tipped onto upper board, map
illustrations to both pastedowns. Minor extremity wear, faint foxing to
textblock edges, scattered faint spotting to cloth. Jacket has some minor
dampness ripples to front panel, minor edge wear....... $100.00
