Promotional piece for the Caterpillar Tractor Company. Reprints the
text of Lincoln's address at the Wisconsin State Agricultural Fair in
Milwaukee, September 30, 1859, in which he imagines a machine that can plow
better, cheaper, and faster than animal power. This copy apparently belonged
to noted Lincoln medical scholar Milton H. Shutes, as he has SIGNED the
preliminary blank leaf. Includes stats and comparisons of Caterpillar
tractors with wheeled tractors. MONAGHAN #3127. Bound tan paper covers over
a saddle-stapled binding, red and black tinted cut of Lincoln on front
cover. Light extremity rubs, lower fore corners of leaves are lightly
rippled, otherwise clean and bright....... $75.00
