[Boston]: Privately Printed, 1917. Limited edition, Hardcover, Octavo, xiv,
28 pages, 3 black & white plates. Very good, ex library.
An attempt to catalogue all known portraits of Albert Gallatin,
Secretary of the Treasury under Thomas Jefferson. Paintings by Gilbert
Stuart and Rembrandt Peale, and a pastel by James Sharples are reproduced in
tissue-guarded plates. One of 50 copies printed by D. B. Updike at the
Merrymount Press, Boston. Minimal markings of a private institutional
library, including spine number, a circular stamp at lower fore corner of
title page and front free endpaper, and a number in ink on title page.
Otherwise only slight rubs to extremities. Several leaves unopened at top
