Many thanks,
Ardwight Chamberlain

A Letter from the States-General to the Queen of Great-Britain, about
the Duke of Ormond’s Orders not to Fight; and the Bishop of Bristol’s
Declaration, that the Queen thought Herself disengaged from all
Obligations to the Dutch. [London:] Printed in the Year 1712. Tall
folio (34 x 18 cm); single sheet broadside printed on recto and verso,
[2]p., on heavy card backing. ESTC T37980.

A protest against England's overtures for a separate peace in the War
of the Spanish Succession, addressed to Queen Anne and printed by
those who sympathized with the Dutch. The "letter" was "sent back
without an answer" by Parliament, who regarded it as a "great
Indignity" and "an affront to Her Majesty." Light creases, a bit of
soiling along the folds; neatly mounted onto a card backing at the
left edge with what appears to be archival tape. An unusual Queen Anne
item.
