TITLE: “Picasso Lithographs from the Mourlot Collection”

CITY/GALLERY/AUCTION DATE: New York; Sotheby’s: November 14, 1994.

DISCUSSION: The sale of a one-of-a-kind collection. Fernand Mourlot and
his brother
Georges ran the Mourlot family lithography studio, working with artists
including
Miro, Chagall and Roualt. When Pablo Picasso turned to lithography in 1945
he went
to Fernand Mourlot, who taught him
everything he knew. Picasso worked closely with Mourlot for the next 20
years, and
the Mourlot collection contains nearly every lithograph Picasso made, many
of them
unique artist’s proofs, many inscribed by Picasso.

DESCRIPTION: Softcover. 8”x10.5”, about 75 pages, 283 lots, black & white
and color
illustrations. Prices realized sheet laid in loosely.

CONDITION NOTES: Small institutional stamp on the endpaper, minor wear,
otherwise
clean and nice.

PRICE: $50.00
