frontispiece of Montreal and a text plate of the City of Quebec. Cont.
calf over marbled boards. A few smudges on the title page, otherwise
very nice.	$300.00
The World Cat record states, "The title is misleading. The work is
actually an account of the author's life in Quebec with extracts of
many letters from relatives, his opinions on many subjects, and many
adverse comments on Catholicism." The author was most likely a Mormon;
the final leaf is an ad for his proposed book, never printed, on the
history of Mormonism. He states, "The work is totally free from the
sectarian bias that has disfigured most of the works that outsiders
have published on the state of affairs in Utah."
