Two small octavo (4-3/4" x 7-1/2") volumes bound in half black morocco 
gilt with matching corners and marbled boards. Attractive 19th-century 
edition of this classic Rabelaisian satire illustrated with wood 
engravings at the head of each chapter, mostly erotic and occasionally 
scatological in nature. Small tasteful bookplate on the front pastedown 
of each volume. Mild rubbing to extremities, interior clean. Very Good,

SIGNED with all of the ORIGINAL PENCIL DRAWINGS for the illustrations 
and layout sketches for the book housed in the second volume, nearly 150
