Phila., 1931.  1st edn, 1 of 200 copies only, this copy unnumbered.  8 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches. Illus from photographs. The Coltons at this time lived in Philadelphia. Matthias Baldwin ( "Baldwin" to his family,) & his brother, William enlisted in the 15th Penna. Cavalry in 1862 & were mustered out, with the regiment, in June, 1865. Imprisoned near Annapolis in 1863, Baldwin writes of his experiences as a parole prisoner, as well as many skirmishes as he & his comrades slowly moved west towards Chattanooga. The letters to him are full of detail about life in Philadelphia  during the War.  An excellent copy of this very scarce narrative.  ($90)  $45

American Imprints lists a Jan. 15 speech (WHi only) but apparently does NOT list this. Disbound octavo; 33 pages. Topics include imprisonment for debt, slavery, railroad construction, &c.
