Club, 1957. Large octavo (7" x 10") bound in gray buckram with 
gilt-stamped black leather spine label and marbled paper slipcase. 
Designed by T. M. Cleland. With a new introduction by Francis Henry 
Taylor. Illustrated with 59 photographs made in France following the 
Adams itinerary by Samuel Chamberlain and reproduced as gravures. Copy 
#1087 of 1500 SIGNED by the illustrator on the colophon page. Lovely 
edition of this classic. Spine slightly sunned. About Fine in a Near

BIERCE, Ambrose (Paul LANDACRE). TALES OF SOLDIERS & CIVILIANS. New 
York: Limited Editions Club, 1943. Tall octavo (7" x 10-3/4") 
imaginatively bound with a decorated linen center panel flanked by 
gilt-decorated dark sheepskin panels. Edited with an introduction by 
Joseph Henry Jackson. Copy #946 of 1500 illustrated with original wood 
engravings by Paul Landacre printed directly from the blocks and SIGNED 
by the artist on the colophon page. Monthly Letter laid in. Fine in a 
Fine chemise, housed in a Fine slipcase and very scarce in this

DOUGHTY, Charles M. TRAVELS IN ARABIA DESERTA. New York: Limited 
Editions Club, 1953. Octavo (7-1/2" x 10-1/2") bound in a rough natural 
linen stamped with designs in dark Arabian brown ink and with a 
traditional Arabian wallet-flap. The First Illustrated Edition of this 
travel classic with drawings by Edy Legrand who retraced the author's 
footsteps. Copy #1307 of 1500. Near Fine, as issued without slipcase and

1960. Small quarto (7-1/8" x 10-1/4") bound with a soft black cotton 
spine and decorated boards. Hapgood's translation, edited and augmented 
by David Glixon for the first complete English text. Designed by 
Giovanni Mardersteig and printed by him at the Officina Bodoni. 
Illustrated with 99 wood engravings of various sizes by Tranquillo 
Marangoni. Copy #1087 of 1500 SIGNED by the artist and by the designer
