plates; xxiv+63+73pp of plates; xviii+93+75pp of
plates. Rebound in the early 20th century. 3/4
brown leather over light brown cloth. Leather
some worn at corners and at edges of
spine. Marbled endpapers. Volume one has small
repair at bottom edge of front endpaper. Plates
mostly clean and crisp. A handsome set, interior near fine. CDN$650.00
A. Pugin (1768/91832), French born. An artist
and architectural draughtsman began this series
and it was continued by his son A.W.Pugin (1812
1852) who continued the tradition and became an
English architect and designer. He is best
remembered for his work in the Gothic Revival
style, particularly churches and the Palace of Westminster.
