Old calf, rubbed, label partly gone, joints cracked but firm, armorial bookplate of Swiss immigrant John Mark Gourgas of Milton, Mass., (member of the American Antiquarian Society & pioneer exponent of vaccination & inoculation.)  This first volume is desirable, as it contains the large folding map of Northwest Africa, approx. 14 X 15 inches, titled “Map of the Empire of Morocco Including the Kingdoms of Fez, Mequinez and others that have been added to that Empire.” The map shows mountains, an oasis, rivers, lakes, cities, provinces, &c. $300.00 ($250 to the trade)
