Bossange; Hamburg: Perthes, Besser & Mauke, 1853.    4to, full calf, both covers elaborately goldstamped with a series of frames and corner ornaments, all edges gilt, marbled end papers, professionally rebacked in calf to match, with raised bands, place marker intact – in short, a nice copy. 41 handsome  clean, unfoxed color plates (nos.81 – 121, as called for by the text.) A landmark of American color plate books, as well as a landmark work on the American sylva.
