Edition. Original dark blue cloth with yellow lettering. Basis for the 
1942 film MY GAL SAL starring Rita Hayworth and Victor Mature. The Frank 
Hogan copy with his small blue leather bookplate on the front pastedown. 
Nickel-size spot of slightly lighter color than the cloth on the bottom 
of the front cover. Fine copy with a solid provenance.         $150.00

Basis for the 1936 film, nominated for an Academy Award, starring Walter 
Huston, Mary Astor, Paul Lukas, and David Niven. Minor fading to the 
spine. Near Fine, lacking the dustwrapper.         $75.00

(1927). First Edition. First state of the binding. Made into a 1960 film 
about a con man and a female evangelist selling religion to small town 
America. It won three Academy Awards for Best Actor (Burt Lancaster), 
Best Supporting Actress (Shirley Jones) and Best Screenplay Based on 
Material from Another Medium (Richard Brooks). It was also nominated for 
Best Music, Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture, and Best Picture. 
There is minimal cracking to the rear hinge but the covers are tight and 
bright; neat owner name and address on the front free endpaper. The 
dustwrapper is complete with some neat internal restoration and repairs. 
Near Fine in a bright, Near Fine and uncommon dustwrapper.         $3,000.00
