xvi,344pp. Copper engraved frontispiece by Eisen. Woodcut device on
title. Cont. calf, gilt decorated spine with red morocco label, over
marbled boards. Hinges rubbed & a small split at foot of front hinge,
but holding soundly. A few leaves with an old stain, but otherwise
quite clean.    $300.00
Twenty short morality plays written for child actors, illustrating
proverbs, among them, "La Petite Verole" to "console young ladies
disfigured by smallpox, and a comforting tale for ugly youngsters," and
"Les Liasions Dangereuses." Cohen-De Ricci, page 710. For the

years this work was reprinted in Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam and
Leipzig.
