MICHENER, James. TALES OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC. New York: Macmillan and
Co., Ltd., 1950. One of 1500 SIGNED copies of this Pulitzer Prize
winner, both the original novel and the slightly later musical, produced
as a special edition for the American Booksellers Association on their
golden anniversary. This copy is covered in an old glassine but probably
not the original unprinted glassine dustwrapper which is rarely seen.
Only slight dullness to the spine which is often found with the gilt
completely rubbed away. Small faded spot, less than the size of a dime,
on the front cover. Still Near Fine. (#002967) $250.00

well-loved musical, winner of the 1950 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, was
based on Michener's first book, TALES OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC, itself a
winner of the Pulitzer in 1947. This copy has the second state of the
copyright notice. Near Fine in a Very Good dustwrapper with the usual
sunning and slight soiling of the spine which is still readable.
