pictorial brown cloth, faded, stamped in blind, black & gilt,
extremities of spine expertly repaired, spine strip a bit darkened.
Gift inscription on a blank preliminary dated, San Francisco. July

An enlarged edition of the author's "System of Aeronautics," first
printed in 1850. Wise (1808-1879) was the most famous American aeronaut
of his day.
