(Lexington, KY: Transylvania Printing Co. for) Louis Lee Haggin.
(1927). (382)pp. This special copy bound in full green pebbled morocco,
gilt stamped. Extremities a bit rubbed and morocco somewhat faded.
Small gouge on front cover. Inscribed by the publisher Louis Lee Haggin
to his wife, "With all my love beloved. With out you the small part I
have done, in this book would never have been made. Louis." $6,000.00

Coleman, KENTUCKY RARITIES, #98, "Privately printed by Louis L. Haggin
of Fayette County. Contains pedigrees and records of many famous
Kentucky horses and data on the early race-horse industry in the
Bluegrass State." Not more than six copies were printed and most were
bound in green cloth. Of these, all of the remaining copies are in
institutions or libraries. Coleman, KENTUCKY HISTORY #2290. Legend has
it that Louis Lee Haggin personally stood at the press line while a few
copies of this book were printed and then watched as the type was
broken up to insure that no additional copies were printed.
