By John C.L. Sparkes.
Published in Boston by S.W. Tilton & Co.: [1877].

DISCUSSION: A practical guide for Victorian china and tile painters, with
technical and stylistic instructions. John C.L. Sparkes, from whose works
this was adapted, was the Headmaster of the National Art Training School
in South Kensington, Director of the Lambeth School of Art, and an
important figure at the Doulton factories at the time. Uncommon.

several wood engraved text illustrations; publisher’s yellow softcovers.

CONDITION NOTES: Old penned name on cover; covers with some soil and wear,

cover with several slightly larger edge chips. Front hinge creased and
cracking, but overall a fairly nice example of a very fragile booklet.
