Chicago: (Printed by the Publisher's Press). 1911. Unpaginated (ff.78,
printed on rectos only). Illustrated with a mounted platinum photo of
the author and 24 mounted platinum photos of his paintings (by Saint
Louis photographer Takuma Kajiwara), each with a tissue guard printed
in red. The "Edition De Luxe," limited to 100 numbered copies, with an
original fine watercolor signed by Sylvester, mounted as a
frontispiece. Specially bound in full calf, gilt, front cover with a
gilt vignette designed by Sylvester. A.e.g. Hinges and extremities
rather rubbed. Signed by the author underneath his photo. Laid in at
front is an original photograph of the artist at work.	$1,000.00 (trade

Frederick Oakes Sylvester (1869-1915) was famous as a painter and poet
of the Mississippi River. This work is considered the culmination of
his artistic talents. This "Deluxe" edition is very scarce.
