TITLE: “The Works of Henry Fielding Esq., comprising his Novels, Plays,
Poems and Miscellaneous Writings, Complete and Unabridged”

Published in New York by Groscup & Sterling in 1902.
Drury lane Edition, limited to 385 numbered sets, printed on Holland
hand-made paper.

DISCUSSION: Henry Fielding [1707-1754] was an English novelist and
dramatist known for his earthy humor and satire, and as the author of the
novel Tom Jones. He also founded London's first police force, the Bow
Street Runners. The volumes in this set comprise: Tom Jones (3 volumes),
Amelia (2 volumes), Jonathan Wild (1 volume), Joseph Andrews (1 volume),
Plays and Poems (5 volumes), Miscellaneous Writings (3 volumes), Legal
Writings (1 volume).

DESCRIPTION: 16 volumes. Hardcover. 6.5”x9.5”, illustrated with black &
white and several color plates, with tissue guards. Uncut edges, top edge
gilt. Red cloth with paper spine labels.

CONDITION NOTES: Some scattered cover soil, some fading and soil to the
labels. Tight hinges. Minor wear, but otherwise clean and nice, with tight
bindings.
