DISCUSSION: A fascinating, well-illustrated history and survey of
small-scale working sailboats and yachts that were sailed on ponds and
lakes by armchair sailors in the first half of the 20th century. More
intricate and hardworking than simple toys, these fully-rigged models came
in a great variety of sizes and styles, as is amply illustrated and
described here. Of special interest are many period photos showing these
boat, with their proud “skippers”, at work in the early decades of the
last century.

illustrations.
