TITLE: “The Early Domestic Architecture of Connecticut”

By J. Frederick Kelly.
Published by the Yale University Press in 1927. 2nd printing.

DISCUSSION: First published in 1924, this important, scholarly survey
illustrates and describes, in minute detail, the architecture and
construction of 17th and 18th century Connecticut houses. The chapters are
divided by architectural element such as roof framing, masonry, windows,
paneling, and so on. All details are drawn from houses extant when the
study was undertaken and are identified. An architectural classic.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 9”x11.5”, xx + 210 pages with 242 line
illustrations, plus 48 black & white plates.

CONDITION NOTES: Covers with some soil.  Bookplate on the front pastedown,
with a little browning shadow on the opposite (blank) page. Minor wear,
but overall clean and nice, with a tight binding and no marks.
