An Ordinance of the Lords and Commons in Parliament, for Explanation,
and further Enlargement of an Ordinance for Sequestration of
Delinquents estates. [London: 1643.] Small 4to; 13 + [1] pp. [WITH] A
true Copy of the Commission under the Great Seal, Sent from Oxford to
severall Persons in the City of London. [London: 1643.] Small 4to; 8
pp. (p. 7-16 [i.e. 14]).

Two anti-Royalist pamphlets from 1643. Disbound, lacking title-pages,
the second lacking all before p. 7, but both are textually complete.
The first shows some early/contemporary inked marginalia (trimmed at
the fore-edge); both with leaves mildly toned, light wear/bumping to
the edges, a few small spots, otherwise sound. Both quite scarce.

The first work, as the title suggests, deals with the seizure of the
lands and property of "such Delinquents and Papists" who have absented
"themselves from the usuall places of their abodes... and have gone,
or shall go to any of the Kings armies, or other forces raised without
consent of both Houses of Parliament." The second work is extracted
from A Brief Narrative of the late Treacherous and Horrid Designe,
Which by the great Blessing and especiall Providence of God hath been
lately discovered... Together with a true Copie of the Commission
under the great Seal, sent from Oxford [etc], printed for Edward
Husbands, 1643, and issued by parliament's supporters in order to
illustrate the treachery and war-mongering designs of King Charles I.
