Barlow (1607-1691) was the English Calvinist Bishop of Lincoln. He was
also a fellow of Queen's College and keeper of Bodleian Library. This
work, without Barlow's extensive commentary, was originally published
in 1586. The Papal Bulls cited were issued in 1570 and 1538,
respectively. Two editions of this work were printed, both in 1681.
