Cloth spine chipped, top and bottom,with a 1/8" partial loss. Outer hinges beautifully repaired. Inner hinges reinforced with a thinstrip of brown cloth. Front free endpaper with the signature and date, "J.W. Tufts, Aug. 1854." Small leather bookplate of Lucy Smith Battson (exLucy Doheny).
