TITLE: “Book Plates”

A promotional booklet issued in Cleveland by the Eclipse Electrotype &
Engraving Company in 1916.

DISCUSSION: An elegant little promotional booklet which extols the ability
of the company to design and print book plates, and illustrates some
examples of those they have printed. “We have made a few book plates –of
merit- we like to make them and we wish to make more. We specially like to
make those that are interpretative – or indicative – of some special bent
of the collector; individuality is of prime importance in ex libris labels
–and there are enough bookish people in our establishment to appreciate
this”. A number of bookplates are illustrated as examples of the sort of
work the company has done.

DESCRIPTION: Softcover. 3.5”x6.5”, 30 pages, printed in black type with
red initial letters on each page, black & white and two colored
illustrations.

CONDITION NOTES: Minor wear, but otherwise clean and nice.

PRICE: $85~
