TITLE: “The Yankee Whaler”

Published in Boston by Houghton Mifflin in 1926.
Edition limited to 1625 copies.

DISCUSSION: A classic on American whaling and whalers. The author sailed
on the whaling bark Sunbeam in August of 1904, and recounts his
experiences off the west coast of Africa and the Crozet Island grounds
here, as well as recounting the golden age of American whaling, the
whalemen, their coats and tools, their folk arts, and, of course, the
whales.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 8.5”x11”, xxiv + 379 pages, 110 black & white
illustrations, plus 16 color plates.

CONDITION NOTES: Publisher’s quarter cloth, covers light soiled, minor
wear (please see the photos), front hinge with several small paper cracks
in the gutter, but tight. Minor wear, but overall clean and nice.
