TITLE: “Necrology of Alumni of Harvard College, 1851-52 to 1862-63”

By Joseph Palmer.
Published in Boston by John Wilson and Son in 1864.

DISCUSSION: The complete obituaries of all Harvard alumni who died between
1851 and 1863, from notices which first appeared in the Boston Daily
Advertiser, written by Dr. Palmer, who was Harvard Class of 1820.  Of
course, deaths during the last year or two include a number of Civil War
casualties. Surprisingly absorbing reading.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 6.5”x10”, publisher’s original dark green
patterned cloth with gilt spine title. Two presentation inscriptions to
A.J. Coolidge from the author.

CONDITION NOTES: Minor wear, some chipping at the top and bottom of the
spine, title page just starting to come away at the base, but otherwise
clean and nice, with a tight binding.
