CATALOGUE OF THE PRIVATE LIBRARY OF SAMUEL G. DRAKE, OF BOSTON, CHIEFLY RELATING TO THE ANTIQUITIES, HISTORY, AND BIOGRAPHY OF AMERICA, AND IS ESPECIAL MANNER TO THE INDIANS, COLLECTED AND USED BY HIM IN PREPARING HIS WORKS UPON THE ABORIGINES OF AMERICA. Boston: Samuel G. Drake, printed by George Coolidge, 1845. First edition. Octavo, original printed string tied self-wrappers. 79pp. (the last page in facsimile). Light foxing, otherwise very good. Drake states in his preface that this catalogue was printed in anticipation of a public auction but that the collection was sold privately. He printed "about 700 copies" and that this catalogue may be helpful as a collection building guide. A nice addition to any Drake collection. $50.00

New York: American Art Association, 1920. First edition. Octavo, original printed tan wrappers. Unpaginated. (36 leaves, there were 113 lots). Illustrated. Frontispiece plus twenty-eight black and white plates mostly of title pages. Very good. Prices realized have been pencilled in next to the descriptions. $85.00
