VERNE, Jules. FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON AND AROUND THE MOON. New York:
Limited Editions Club, 1970. Two quarto volumes (7" x 10-3/4") bound in
ochre buckram-backed boards stamped in green and gold leaf and covered
with a segment of a map of the lunar surface. This is copy #159 of 1500
with an introduction by the author's grandson and illustrated with color
plates by Robert Shore. Of a total edition of 1500 copies SIGNED by the
artist on the colophon page, this is one of only 25 Presentation Copies
with the publisher's blindstamp attesting to such on the colophon page
where instead of a number the initials "J.M." are handwritten. Acquired
directly from the publisher's files, and most likely the publisher
Jonathan Macy's very own copy. Fine in a typically and lightly rubbed,
Near Fine slipcase. (#016323) $150.00
