AESCHYLUS & SHELLEY, Percy Bysshe. PROMETHEUS BOUND and PROMETHEUS
UNBOUND. Haarlem: Limited Editions Club, 1965. Tall octavo (7-1/4" x
11") bound in two shades of fine linen buckram-- ivory and
powder-blue--divided horizontally, with two rows of decorative ornaments
stamped in gold along the joint, and with spine labels of the same
shades of buckram applied to the contrasting areas. Printed by the Joh.
Enschede en Zonen printing house in Holland on paper made in Holland
specially for this edition. Translated and with an introduction by Rex
Warner. Illustrated with sixteen monochrome drawings by John Farleigh
executed in line and wash over a buff background. Of a total of 1500
copies, this copy is not numbered (in place of the number is written in
ink "Office Copy") and bears the Club's blindstamp stating it is one of
25 presentation copies. This edition was issued unsigned. Monthly Letter

imaginatively bound with a decorated linen center panel flanked by
gilt-decorated dark sheepskin panels. Edited with an introduction by
Joseph Henry Jackson. Illustrated with original wood engravings by Paul
Landacre printed directly from the blocks. Of a total of 1500 copies
SIGNED by the artist on the colophon page, this copy is not numbered (in
place of the number is written in ink "Office Copy") and bears the
Club's blindstamp stating it is one of 25 presentation copies. Some
rubbing to the leather, but the book is still quite nice and Fine
internally. Very Good in a broken chemise and a Good complete slipcase

printed in terra cotta with nautical silhouettes by Geoffrey Ingleton;
176 pages. Printed at the Griffin Press; introduction by Alan Villiers.
Designed by Douglas Dunstan and illustrated by Geoffrey Ingleton with 3
full-page color plates and 22 in-text line drawings. He also drew a map
of the southwest Pacific for the front endpapers and a plan of the
Bounty's main rigging for the rear endpapers. The frontispiece
reproduces the portrait of Admiral Bligh painted by John Smart in 1797.
Of a total edition of 2000 numbered copies SIGNED by the artist and by
the designer on the colophon page, this is one of only 25 Presentation
Copies with the publisher's blindstamp attesting to such on the colophon
page where instead of a number the initials "G.C." are handwritten.
Acquired directly from the publisher's files, this copy belonged to
Gordon Carroll who was in charge of the club's operations in the 1970s
when it operated out of Avon, CT. Monthly Letter laid in. Fine in a Very

BROWNING, Elizabeth Barrett. SONNETS FROM THE PORTUGUESE. New York:
Limited Editions Club, 1948. Elephant folio (10-1/2" x 15") bound in
full blue unfinished linen stamped with gold leaf in a hand-moulded case
covered with the same material. Introduction by Louis Untermeyer. The
text is reprinted from that of the Fourth Edition of Browning's POEMS,
published in 1856; the sonnet now numbered XLII was included in the
series for the first time. Embellished with decorations in red, blue,
and gold by Valenti Angelo, applied to the sheets through silk screens.

Enric-Cristobal Ricart. Copy #1142 of 1500 SIGNED by the artist on the
colophon page in each volume. In the second volume the number is crossed
out and in place is written in ink "Office Copy" with the Club's
blindstamp stating it is one of 25 presentation copies. Spines soiled
and a bit sunned. Very Good in a stained, complete slipcase that is

HORACE. ODES AND EPODES OF HORACE. New York: Limited Editions Club,
1961. Two volumes in octavo (5" x 7-1/4") and folio (9-1/2" x 13-3/4")
bound in half buckram with highly distinctive hand-marbled paper sides
by Putois Freres of Paris. The smaller volume, printed in red and black,
consists of the original Latin odes with English translations on facing
pages selected and edited by Louis Untermeyer. The larger volume
consists of facsimile pages, in the same size as the originals, of 39
pages from 23 various volumes of Horace dating from 1482 to 1910. Of a
total edition of 1500 copies, this is one of only 25 Presentation Copies
with each volume with the publisher's blindstamp attesting to such on
the colophon page where instead of a number the initials "G.C." are
handwritten. Acquired directly from the publisher's files, this copy
belonged to Gordon Carroll who was in charge of the club's operations in

buckram spine with the title stamped in gold leaf and sides covered with
a hand-made and hand-printed brown-and-green Varese paper; 168 pages.
Translated into English verse by John Dryden with an introduction by
George F. Whicher. Designed by Giovanni Mardersteig and printed at the
Officina Bodoni. Illustrated with wood engravings by Bruno Bramanti, the
prints pulled directly from the blocks. Of a total of 1500 copies SIGNED
by the artist and the designer on the colophon page, this copy is not
