ALBERTUS MAGNUS (Saint), Supposed Author.  BEWAERTE UND APPROBIRTE SYMPATHETISCHE  UND NATUERLICHE EGYPTISCHE GEHEIMNISSE FUER MENSCHEN UND VIEH . . .  Braband (?), 1839 &c.  4 parts in one, as issued, each part with separate pagination, index and title page. Imprints read: (1), Braband, 1839; (2), Braband, 1834; (3), Braband, 1840; (4), Boston, Litarischen Central-Bureau, 1852.  Pages 67, 80, 69, 72.  Probably all imprints are fictitious.  OCLC locates only the Harvard Medical School & Univ. of Cincinnati copies (part 1 dated 1834.)  (Magic and other remedies for man and beast.  Amulets, eye-ache, sick horses, worms, corn borers, understanding bird songs, how to make a mirror in which one can see everything, magic numbers, burnt fingers, finding water, childbirth, fever, epilepsy, stillbirth, &c, &c.) The last 2 pages contain a list of medicinal plants. Usually printed with fictitious imprints because of the opposition of the clergy.  Plain (later?) cloth, free end papers gone.  $125.00 ($100.00 to the trade) postpaid.
