Entirely engraved, each leaf printed on one side only. Frontispiece, title page with armorial vignette, and 124 leaves of engraved text (each illustrated with a 1" x 1-3/4" vignette). All the illustrations (historical scenes) are finely hand colored. Orig. gilt decorated calf, worn at extremities, nicely rebacked by R. Wallis – Binder, with original backstrip laid down, later red calf spine label, inner hinges reinforced with binder's linen. A.e.g. Bookplate on front pastedown.
