Clapp, Jr. Charles.  DRUNKS ARE SQUARE PEGS.  New York:  Island Press, 1942.  First edition.  Duodecimo, light brown linen with dark brown titles and cover device.  vii, 118pp.  Very good.  Endpapers are tanned.  Inscribed ,”To Daisy Bacon- With best wishes Charles Clapp, Jr.  February 14, 1942”.  With a piece of Miss Bacon’s Stationery with scribbled notes.   Clapp was an Alcoholics Anonymous Oxford Group  mentor whose first book, The Big Bender brought Clapp to some prominence. In this book he diverges from the main line of "AA" thought. He would later recant in a third book, Drinking Is Not The Problem. 
Daisy Bacon was a renown editor of pulp fiction and magazines in the 1940's. At one point she was the highest paid woman editor in the business. Scarce. $500.00
