Old blind tooled paneled calf, rebacked to style. Some light text soiling. A very rare book. No copy has appeared at auction (ABPC) since 1993.	$8,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
This is the second edition, but with 8 added plates, that do not appear in the 1601 first edition.  A very fine series of engraved plates, by Theodor De Bry, of classical mythology, including wonderful images of Bacchus, Hercules, Calliope, Terpsichore, Cleo, etc., as well as the great authors of antiquity; Homer, Hesiodus, Pindarus, Vergil, Sappho, Catullus, etc. Cicognara 4680.
