Milton. Presentation inscription on first free endpaper by W. L.

PRINCESS ELIZABETH, LATE QUEEN OF ENGLAND CONTAINING ... REIGN. 
London: Charles Harper and John Amery, 1675. Illustrated by Portrait. 
Third edition. Original old sheepskin, rebacked. Marbled edges and 
gilt lettering to spine. 7" x 11.75". [661 pgs] Very good. Invoice of 
previous owner dated 1947 laid in. Bookplate pasted to inside front 
board reads: "Edward Nicholas Esq. of Gillingham in the County of 
Dorset: 1703." Tight strong binding and very clean and fresh leaves.

ENGLAND; BRIEFLY SETTING FORTH THEIR RISE, GROWTH, AND TRAGICAL 
CONCLUSION. AS ALSO, SOME PARALLEL THEREOF WITH THE BARONS-WARS IN 
THE TIME OF KING HENRY III. BUT CHIEFLY WITH THAT IN FRANCE, CALLED 
THE HOLY LEAGUE, IN THE REIGN OF HENRY III AND HENRY IV LATE KINGS OF 
THAT REALM TO WHICH IS ADDED A PERFECT NARRATIVE OF THE TREATY AT

James Fox. First edition. 3/4 Morocco, raised bands. 8.5" x 11". [xl, 
293, [1], cli pgs] Very good. Marbled endpapers and edges. Owner's 
bookplate. Frontispiece, front endpapers, and title page foxed, spine 
darkened, corners bumped.  $450.00

Taylor, Andr. Bell, T. Ballard, and B. Lintott, 1704. First edition. 
Full leather, raised bands. 8" x 12". [362 pgs] Very good. In nine 
books, all contained herein. Slight foxing to first and last few 
pages, boards scuffed, otherwise beautiful book in original binding, 
sympathetically rebacked. Ancient bookplate and some very old notes 
to a few margins in sepia ink. Lacking frontispiece portrait.  $750.00

6.  ST. ALBAN, FRANCIS [SIR FRANCIS BACON].  THE HISTORIE OF THE 
RAIGNE OF KING HENRY THE SEVENTH. London: Printed by W. Stansby for 
Matthew Lownes and William Barret, 1622. Illustrated by portrait 
frontispiece and engraved title page. First issue of first edition 
edition. Full original sheep, raised bands with red gilt title label. 
7" x 11.75". [273x170mm, [8], 248 pgs] Very good. No corrections. 
Spine darkened and boards have some old bookworm tracks. Leather worn 
at head and tail of spine. Upper hinges weak. Pages very clean and 
free of foxing.  $1250.00
