I can offer...

The Exile.   No. 1, Spring 1927.   Edited by Ezra Pound.   Small 8vo, original reddish wrappers lettered in black.   92 pp.   Two tears at the foot of the spine, although nothing is missing.   There are also several pencil and a few ink notations and corrections in the text.   Otherwise a near-fine copy.

Printed in Dijon at the press of Maurice Darantiere, this includes the first publication of Hemingway’s “Neothomist Poem”-- which is misspelled "Nothoemis t Poem " and  corrected (apparently Pound himself corrected this in all copies ).   Also includes “Part of Canto XX” by Pound; a piece by Guy Hickok entitled “Or Those Synthetic States” that pokes fun at Americans; “Natal Verses For the Birth of a New Review” by Richard Aldington; a five-page postscript by Pound on the aims of the Review and the content of this issue; and, the longest piece, “Adolphe 1920” by John Rodker (which has been separately paginated in pencil, and which is where most of the pencil notes in this issue occur).  Three further issues were produced, but the first number is scarce.   Hanneman C174.
