TITLE: “Catalogue of Prints and Drawings in the British Museum. Division
1. Political and Personal Satires, Vol. IV.- A.D. 1761 to A.D. 1770”

By Frederic George Stephens & Edward Hawkins.
Printed by Order of the Trustees in 1883.

DISCUSSION: A massive undertaking, completed by Mr. Stephens, working from
the notes of Mr. Hawkins, whose collection of satirical prints, upon his
death, was bought by the British Museum and largely augmented its own fine
collection. The previous volumes in the series had covered the years 1320
to 1689, 1689 to 1733, and 1734 to 1760. Given the fact that our volume
covers just 9 years, obviously British satirists had stepped up their
production.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 7”x10.5”, 836 pages. No illustrations.

CONDITION NOTES: Ex-library, with several stamps and marks, bookplate, and
perforated stamp on the title page. Covers a bit worn. Tight binding.

PRICE: $85-
