One of the famous Cahiers de doleances (collections or lists of grievances) presented to the Estates-General in the early days of the French Revolution, this one dealing withe the nation's finances and taxes. With numerous references to Jacques Necker, the taille, etc. Small hole in the first leaf, not affecting text; light foxing to the last few leaves; an early owner has provided different page numbers in ink to the upper corners, suggesting that this was once bound in a nonce volume with others; otherwise quite clean and sound, firmly bound.
